## Individualised Living Options (ILO)

A flexible, participant-designed alternative to SIL — drop-in support, shared living with a friend, a host family, or tailored support while living with family.

What ILO Actually Is

### Supports designed around your life, not the other way around

Individualised Living Options give NDIS participants the freedom to design their living arrangement around what actually works for them, rather than fitting into a fixed housing model.

- Live on your own with drop-in support

- Share a home with a friend or housemate

- Stay with a host family who provides day-to-day support

- Continue living with family, with tailored supports added to build independence

#### How ILO Differs From SIL

**SIL** usually involves shared housing with rostered staff — structured, and largely built around a provider's existing model. **ILO** is flexible and personal — supports are designed around the participant's lifestyle, relationships, and goals.

Think of it this way: SIL is moving into a provider's model. ILO is building your own, with supports designed to fit.

How ILO Is Accessed

### Two stages, built around you

#### Exploration and Design

The participant, family, support coordinator, and provider map out what the ideal living arrangement looks like: where, with whom, what supports, and when. This becomes a detailed ILO Service Proposal submitted to the NDIS for approval.

#### Implementation

Once approved, the plan is put into action: moving into the chosen arrangement, matching with a housemate or host family if relevant, training support workers, and establishing routines and safety plans. ILO isn't static — it's revisited and adjusted as needs and goals evolve.

#### Why Annzac Care

Annzac Care is building out its Individualised Living Options for families across the Augustine Heights and Ipswich corridor. We don't yet have published case studies to share, and we won't invent ones to fill that gap — as we work with participants and families, and with their consent, we'll add real examples here.
